Aux Truffes Restaurant
Mount Tremblant, Quebec Canada

Tucked away in the splendor of village of Mount Tremblant, Aux Truffes serves up a combination of traditional French and contemporary cuisine. Odd things show up on the menu with a pan-pacific influence which I suggest be avoided. With that said, I was inspired by the Caribou with berry sauce and gnocchi, lamb medallions with sliced truffles, seared foie gras escalope with chocolate, the selection of local cheeses.
The wine selections feature many treasures, many from Canada (heretofore I didn’t know Canada had a wine industry). As a courtesy to a nearby Italian restaurant, the wine list features no Italian vintages. The wine steward, a very attentive Canadian, expertly paired wines for the various courses.
The staff was courteous and efficient. The dress code is casual, they have a no smoking section, and take all major credit cards.
On a side note, the village at Mount Tremblant is just spectacular in the
summer, and I imagine equally grand in winter. About 90 minutes north of Montreal,
it is definitely a destination, not only for food, but for adventure and pure
beauty. Just across from Aux Truffes is Soto Sushi, considered by many to serve
some of the best Sushi in all of Canada. The entire village is full of life and
open to the wee hours, in fact I hear that one can get pizza and beer at 3:00 AM
:p
